lessplasticmorelife.org's cool cloth bags!

Posted by Picasa

Many people, including all of us at lessplasticmorelife.org agree that a cloth bag is the best bag. That brings up the next big question> Where do we get a cool cloth bag? Options are limited. The ones that a good are too expensive or not easily available. And the ones that are easily available are not good.
So after much deliberation and frustration, we decided to design our own cloth bags.
We've only made a few samples after spending a considerable amount(Designer Limited Edition?:). The bags are a huge hit!
We're loving it and flaunting it. But the only problem is that we're not bag makers or retailers. We're just designers.

We're currently looking for individuals/organisations who would like to print these designs and take them to the masses, at a profit or otherwise. We'll be happy to share the designs as long as the cloth bags are replacing the plastic ones.

Greetings in the matchless name of our almighty God!
We at Helping Hearts Social Serice Society helping the underprevileged in the society with various schemes. We are sheltering the children affected(parents infected with HIV) with HIV Aids under the banner of Bal Rakshak. The Society is rejecting HIV patients by not giving any jobs and residences. We had started a tailoring centre in Hyderabad for the patients to sustain themselves.

We would be very grateful if you would like to co-operate and extend your resources to make this as a sustenable livihood for them.

Hyderabad is a Hitec City and most of the coporates has the Corporate Social Responsibility to spread the message to use Cloth Bags instead of plastics and also propogating hazardous of the plactics and we hope there is scope to penetrate this market directly by the Ngos which will be sustenable model for them.

We once thank you for sharing the information.

Hope to hear from you.

Dr. S. Don Bosco.

These are good designs. Are you thinking of re-using old cloths for making cloth bags? Also I think if possible, backpack style can attract a lot of people.

I regret for multiple comments.

Wipro distributed cloth bags on Women's day, which had some short tips on environment friendly living on the other side. There can also be some catchy green captions on the front.

But, where can these bags be available?

The initiative is timely and could be worked into a sustainable livelihood model especially for the differently abled. My focus area is Delhi and NCR. Am currently looking at collaborating with NGOS on this front. It would be good to hear from you. My email id is uwdelhi@gmailo.com

Keep up the good work

hi,
I am a big 'no-plastic' perso, right from carrying my own bag to re-using whatever plastic enters my home. I would like to suggest one important step, that I have been following i.e composting. I compost all my kitchen waste and in the process don't mix bio waste with plastic.
I want to take this practice to people, can u suggest anyways to do the same...
Couldn't get ur email from ur site - had to install Outlook, so gave up.
